01 Koka Kinabalu
Upon
arrival into Kota Kinabalu International airport, meet & greet and
transfer to hotel. Check-in, rest & relax. Overnight at Beverly
Hotel, Kota Kinabalu (run of house) or similar.
DAY
02 Kinabalu Park - Poring Hot Spring - Sabah Tea Garden (Breakfast,
Lunch, Dinner)
After
breakfast, check-out from the hotel and we will depart to Kinabablu
Park. We travel across the Crocker Range of mountains with panoramic
views of surrounding countryside. Whilst en-route to Kinabalu Park,
we catch the magnificent sight of Mount Kinabalu, South East Asia
highest peak.
Kinabalu
Park is a World Heritage Site with incredible mega bio-diversity
of flora and fauna, a heaven for nature enthusiasts. On arrival,
enjoy a guided nature trek along one of the many trails in the park
before proceeding to Poring Hot Springs which offers visitors the
opportunity for an invigorating dip into its hot sulphur springs.
For a closer look at nature, take the 41 meter high canopy walk
which offers a spectacular view of the Borneo Rain forest flora
and fauna below. Lunch is included.
In
the afternoon, we continue our journey to Sabah Tea Garden. Check-in
into our longhouse on arrival (triple share). You may then participate
in blowpipe & batik painting at Sapaon Recreational Area or relax
before dinner at the Tea House.
Overnight at Sabah Tea Longhouse (Guesthouse with basic amenities)
Notes:
Sabah Tea Longhouse is based on the Rungus Longhouse. It is quite
different form the Murut Longhouse, equally to be found in Sabah.
The houses are not perched on excessively high stilts; they are
usually only about three to five feet above ground. Sabah Tea Longhouse
offers basic features such as, mosquito net, ceiling fan, wash basin,
build-in counter, individual door lock, common hallway, common bathroom
(6 toilets & 14 bathrooms with water heater).
DAY
03 Sabah Tea Garden -
KG Lunati Baru
(Fish Massage) - Sandakan [Breakfast,
Lunch, Dinner]
Today
we set off early at 06:00am, for a morning walk to enjoy the beautiful
sunrise and views of Mountain Kinabalu and the undulating tea plantations
covered with cool mist.
Later
we enjoy a typical Malaysian breakfast at your Tea House and participate
on a tea factory educational Tour. Check-out after the tour and
drop by the souvenir shop before depart for KG Lunati Baru. Lunati
Baru is where you can enjoy an invigorating Fish Massage and also
learn about the tagal fish conservation.
Afterwards
we collect our packed lunch and depart to Sandakan. The journey
takes about 3 – 4hrs to reach Sukau, where upon arrival we then
take a short boat transfer & check-in to one of the riverside lodges.
Later
we take a boat upstream along Sabah’s longest river, for a great
opportunity to view the abundance of wildlife and birds in their
original habitat of virgin mangrove and rainforests. This is a great
opportunity to see many different types of primates including the
Proboscis Monkeys playing in the treetops. Overnight
at Sukau Lodge
DAY
04 Sukau - OX Bow Lake (Breakfast,
Lunch, Dinner)
Wake
up to bird song. There is nothing like the noise of the jungle,
with insects, birds and animals all competing to be heard. At 6.00am
we take a morning cruise up the Kinabatangan River and onto Kelenanap
ox-bow lake for birdwatching and in search of other wildlife.
We
take a short jungle walk (if weather permits) and experience the
wilderness of Borneo before returning to the lodge for breakfast.
Free at leisure to explore the surrounding areas or nearby village.
In the evening, enjoy a boat cruise along the river to see the many
species of flora and fauna of the rainforest. Overnight Sukau Lodge.
DAY
05 Sukau - Sandakan - Sepilok Orang-utan Sanctuary (Breakfast
& Lunch only)
Today
we depart for Sandakan, where en route, we take a brief stop at
the Gomantong cave and have lunch at Sandakan. Check-in to
the Sepilok Nature Resort and later our guide will meet you
for your tour of the Sepilok Orang-utan Sanctuary where young
orang-utans are coached to enable them to return to their natural
habitats. Overnight Sepilok Natural Resort.
DAY
06 Sepilok - Turtle Island (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Meet
your guide and proceed to the jetty for your boat transfer to
Turtle Island. Check-in at Turtle Island Guest house and relax
before lunch. Enjoyed the sun, sea or snorkel around the beautiful
Island. Be prepared to watch part of the complex life cycle of the
green turtle as they come ashore for their egg laying. Overnight
Turtle Island Resthouse – Standard Room.
DAY
07 Turtle Island - Sandakan Airport
(Breakfast & Lunch only)
After
breakfast, return to Sandakan where we have a city tour, visiting
the water village, central market & buddhist temple. After the tour
we have lunch at an English Tea House before our drop-off at Sandakan
airport.
Suggested time of flight departure from Sandakan is 2.00pm (Tour
does not include flight tickets).

to bring for Sabah Wildlife Trail: Sweater, hat, raincoat, good
walking shoes, long sleeve shirt, T-shirt, long trousers, shorts,
torch, insect repellent, camera with fast film and sunglasses.
- Certain
portions of the overland journey from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan,
approximately a stretch of 56km is on unsealed road, certain amount
of discomfort should be expected.
- This
tour gives great opportunities to see an abundance of different
animals and birds. However as these animals and birds are in their
natural habitat, we can understandable not provide an absolute
guarantee that a specific species will be seen during the tour.

with
many reputable airlines. We can also provide flights from
many UK regional airports. Depending upon availability and route
we will
try to arrange direct flights when possible, however allocation
can be limited. If you wish to be booked on a particular airline,
please specify at the time of booking (supplement may apply). Alternatively,
for
the cheapest deal we recommend you book your international flights
at time of booking, as this can save you £££s
off your final holiday price.
